Faceoff 27 is an early test version (alpha). This page lists what changes with each update – newest first. Feedback is welcome via the contact form.
New
New main menu: tidied up – six areas on the left, “For you today” on the right with cup, daily challenge and news. Everything fits on screen without scrolling.
Minigames: penalty, duel and fist fight now have their own section.
Flick Hockey: a new minigame – take turns to drag, aim and release. Combine passes and beat the goalie, against the CPU or with two players on one device.
Account & friends league (test): sign in with an email code, pick a player name and start a league with friends. Both players confirm results. Ages 16 and up.
New
English: switch between German and English at the top right of the menu; more languages will follow in the settings.
Mouse controls: play with just the mouse – your player skates to the pointer, clicks shoot and pass (Settings → Controls → Mouse).
Host online from tablets and phones: create matches from a tablet (all formats) or a phone (1v1 and co-op). The screen stays on; briefly switching apps pauses the game for everyone.
Party mode: TV or PC as the screen, up to four phones as controllers – no app, just scan the QR code.
Cup: four rounds against the CPU, each round harder. Your progress is saved.
Daily challenge: a new drill every day, the same for everyone. One attempt counts – share your result and build a streak.
Stats & achievements: your games, wins, goals and records, plus more than 20 achievements to unlock. Back up your progress to a file and load it again.
Fights in games: after hard checks things can boil over – a short fistfight, then both go to the penalty box. Can be switched off in the settings.
Practice with game situations: 2-on-1 rush, one-timer, penalty shot, power play and penalty kill, faceoffs and more – repeat at the push of a button.
Sharing: share your result after the game and save goals as a short clip.
Swipe controls for phones: tap = pass, swipe = shoot, hold = protect the puck (selectable in the settings).
Improved
More goals: a game now has about 2–5 goals depending on length, even with short periods. Goals come from plays, not goalie blunders.
Pass reception: much more forgiving on Rookie and Pro; the puck no longer bounces off the stick.
One-timer timing: press exactly as the pass arrives for a full, accurate shot.
Back on your feet faster: players get up quicker after a check, and skating off from a standstill reacts faster.
Getting started: short tips in your first games and ten new tutorial lessons (one-timer, deke, poke check, goalie, offside, icing …).
Checks with impact: you now clearly see, hear and feel hard checks.
Arena atmosphere: organ, clap rhythms, goal song and tension in the final minute.
Defense: the CPU covers the area in front of the net much better.
Faster response: shorter delay between button press and picture.
Online: as a guest, your own shot or pass leaves right away instead of waiting for the host.
Online over mobile data and company networks: connections now work even where direct connections are blocked.
Line changes on the fly: your team now changes lines during play like the CPU when players get tired – never in the middle of your shot or pass. Bottom left shows your line and stamina. Can be switched off in the settings.
Faceoff27 is online: exhibition, shootout, duel, fistfight, practice, drills and tutorial in your browser.
Play online against friends via link, with full teams (5 on 5), alone or as a pair against the CPU.
Phone as controller now also works over the internet.
Phone: shots go in your skating direction, more transparent display at the top, volume starts at 40%.
